Melissa A. Ohlson MS, RD has been a registered dietician since 1999 since receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, Fitness and Health from Purdue University in 1998, completing a Dietetic Internship at University Hospitals of Cleveland, in Cleveland, OH in 1999, and obtaining her Masters of Science in Nutrition from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH. Melissa not only understands how food provides fuel or energy and for basic health needs, but she also understands that weight loss and good eating go hand in and. As a Nutrition Projects Coordinator at the esteemed Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Melissa works with patients to ensure their diets are heart healthy following cardiovascular issues and in prevention of future cardiovascular diseases and conditions. She has also worked in crafting recipes to help those with specific medical conditions, diabetes and those involved in sports and athletics. She is a member of the ADA (American Dietetic Association) as well as SCAN (Sports, Cardiovascular, and Wellness Nutritionists) within the ADA. |

Melissa has received additional training in
weight loss management and has received the ADA’s Certificate in
Training in Adult Weight Management – which keeps her abreast of the
latest research on nutrition and weight loss.
In addition, Melissa has edited and authored several books, numerous articles and papers; has been a Heart Coach for Promise (makers of Activ spreads and supershots); frequently presents on nutrition and women’s health issues as well as acquiring her certification as a personal trainer. Melissa also brings a personal touch to her weight loss diet plan for those who just had a baby – her own experience. With two children less than 2 years apart herself; Melissa understand the demands of motherhood, the time constraints, sleep deprivation and what mothers need from a nutritious diet plan. |
