THE CABBAGE SOUP DIET

The Cabbage Soup Diet is designed for speed. It is for dieters who need to lose weight fast—for an event or special occasion. Many dieters lose up to 10 to 15 pounds on this diet, so it is easy to see its appeal.

However, it is NOT designed to be a long-term diet plan, followed over the course of weeks or months. It is not recommended to do more than seven (7) days on the cabbage soup diet because of its narrow focus on one kind of food, low-calorie intake, and lack of adequate nutrition.

Cabbage Soup Meal Plan

 For seven days, you eat cabbage soup and a variety of other vegetables. On two days you are allowed to eat meat. Cabbage soup is a high-fiber, low-fat food that can help you lose weight in the short term, so you can eat as much as you want. However, you must consume at least four (4) glasses of water a day.

Day 1
Eat only fruit except banana, with unsweetened tea, black coffee, cranberry juice, and water. You may eat as much soup as you like.

Day 2
Raw vegetables day. Eat as much as you want, but try to avoid dry beans, sweet corn, and peas. For dinner, enjoy a baked potato with butter. Eat as much soup as you like, but no fruit today.

Day 3
Cabbage soup and a mixture of the vegetables consumed on Day 1 and 2.

Day 4
Indulge your sweet tooth with as many as eight (8) bananas and as many glasses of skim milk as you desire. Continue to eat as much cabbage soup as you would like.

Day 5
Cabbage soup and 10-20 oz of beef, chicken, or fish. Enjoy up to six fresh tomatoes while drinking 6-8 glasses of water.

Day 6
Cabbage soup, beef, and vegetables. Enjoy up to three (3) steaks, with fresh veggies or mixed green salad. No baked potato, though.

Day 7
Eat cabbage soup at least once today. Consume brown rice, vegetables, and unsweetened fruit juices. No bread, alcohol, or soda is allowed.

 

Cabbage Soup Recipe

  • 6 green onions
  • 2 green peppers
  • 1 or 2 cans of tomatoes (diced or whole)
  • 3 Carrots
  • 1 container (10 oz.) mushrooms
  • 1 bunch of celery
  • half a head of cabbage
  • 1 package soup mix
  • 1 or 2 cubes of bouillon (optional)
  • 1 48 oz can V8 juice (optional)
  • Season with salt, pepper, parsley, curry, garlic powder, etc.
